Training and CPD Courses
Computer Science Labs are committed to offering legal practitioners a structured programme of CPD modules designed to enhance their understanding of both how technology impacts on their operations, and how it can support them.
Computers, other forms of personal electronic devices and the internet have become inextricably woven into almost every facet of modern life, and as a result are forming an ever increasing part of legal proceedings.
This involvement may range from technology as a source of evidence, technology as a channel for misdeeds, to technology as a means to support the day-to-day operations of busy legal practitioners.
The CPD modules offered by CSL are designed to demystify the subject of technology in a legal context, allowing even those with little or no experience of technology to understand:
- How modern technology functions
- How so called ‘digital evidence’ arises and the forms it can take
- The new opportunities this can present
- The special considerations and techniques necessary to obtain, handle, preserve and present digital evidence
- The ways technology can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of practitioners’ legal operations
The module programme currently being offered is as follows:
- Legal Technology Foundation
- Digital Technologies
- Digital Evidence Discovery and Disclosure
- Legal Support Technology
The programme is delivered either from the prestigious ‘One Central Park’ location, ideally placed near the centre of Manchester but boasting ample easy parking, or can be delivered ‘on-site’ at a clients preferred location.
The modules are delivered by personnel trained and experienced both in technical training delivery and in the role technology plays and can play in modern legal practice.
