Latest News The New Universal Head & Platter Exchanger (HPE) Pro 05/01/2009  Currently one of major factors prohibiting the recovery of data from drives that have suffered from mechanical failure is the acoustic spacers inserted between multiple hard drive platters. These prevent the maintenance of correct alignment between the platters upon removal. The new Universal HPE Pro allows straightforward data recovery from these drives; it consists of two pairs of conventional platter removers (for 2.5” and 3.5” HDDs without spacers), a pair of SP platter removers (for 3.5” HDDs with spacers), the working platform and the magnet removal tool. The SP platter removers are newly developed tools, and have been added to the previous generation of HPE Pro. They are specifically designed for platter removal on 3.5” HDDs with spacers (e.g. Seagate, Western Digital, Maxtor, Samsung and Hitachi/IBM). Current users of the HPE Pro will be able to purchase a pair of the new SP platter removers as an additional item. Release of the Universal HPE Pro is to be announced.
